The COYCH is primarily a sports club whose main purpose is to promote the practice of sailing in Hyères and the « Toulon Provence Méditerranée » community of townships. Consequently, we aim to develop the following main activities : - Training sessions and sports schools - Organizing regattas - Sailing schools and training camps
Training sessions and sports schools are held on Wednesdays and over the week-end, they are supervised by qualified and often top-level trainers. They make use of Optimist, Laser 4.7, radial and standard, Hobie cat and First class 8 but also Melges 24, since 4 units of that particular class are stationed in Hyères. Such regular training sessions have led many COYCH members to the highest steps of the podium and to some remarkable performances such as a repeat victory (2005 and 2007) in the Tour de France à la voile. Just for 2007 we have a European vice champion (and French national champion) (JB Bernaz on Laser), a victory in the national Optimist Benjamin ranking (M.Barrue) and we head the national ranking for Star and the national ranking for Laser clubs. Not to mention "Euro-voiles" ' 5th place in the Melges 24 European championships. |
